The death of Beth Emhoff and her son leads to the discovery of a deadly virus. While the US Centers for Disease Control struggles to curb its spread, a worldwide panic ensues.

This film was a warning to us in 2011, which no one bothered to take seriously. It will scare the shit out of you for how accurate they were in showing what we are experiencing at this very moment with CORONA. It’s a must watch. If you can’t sit at home and feel like going out, watch this.

Rodrigues and Garupe, two Catholic missionaries, travel to Japan in search of their missing mentor, Ferreira, who is believed to have been promoting Catholicism by going against the law.

No one has ever shown faith like Scorsese does in Silence. This is a movie which talks about religion in a way which will move both religious as well as atheists.

An American actor Bob, lands in Tokyo for an ad film and ends up meeting Charlotte, who's left behind by her photographer husband. Gradually, the two discover a friend within each other.

The last film HER by Spike Jonze is like a letter to his ex-wife, Sofia Coppola’s LOST IN TRANSLATION. The language of comedy & romance is so different from any other film you see. If you’re feeling lonely, leave everything and start watching.

Wild Tales is a 2014 black comedy anthology film composed of six standalone shorts, all written and directed by Damián Szifron, united by a common theme of violence and vengeance

This compilation of six short films explores the extremities of human behavior ( specially REVENGE ) involving people in distress. This film is so relatable with the emotions, you will feel you wouldn’t do anything different from what the characters did, and it will scare you for relating to it.

Start this with the highest expectation and you’ll still end it with a BIG SMILE. A young man who has Down syndrome, goes on an adventure that involves wrestling and crabbing. And with his friend ( Shia LaBeouf ) he makes a winning team. 

9. Ee Ma Yau ( 2018 ) 120 mins [ AMAZON PRIME VIDEOS ]

Genre: Drama / Satire

Set in Chellanam in the South Indian state of Kerala, the sudden death of Vavachan Mesthiri throws a family into turmoil as they scramble to plan his funeral.

Rango, a pet chameleon who aspires to be a hero, lands in a drought-affected town plagued by bandits. He claims to be the saviour and makes an attempt to protect it.

Ever imagined a lizard taking up the role of a sheriff in an old school western world ? Fan of Johnny Depp ? What if I tell you he is the lizard.. this film is funny to some other level, if you are someone who loves to tell/listen to stories you’re going to fall in love with this lizard. 


11. In The Mood For Love ( 2000 ) 98 mins

In the Mood for Love is a 2000 Hong Kong romantic drama film written, produced, and directed by Wong Kar-wai. It tells the story of a man and a woman whose spouses have an affair together and who slowly develop feelings for each other.

This film is the most beautiful POETRY to the eyes. This isn’t any romantic film, its a film that shows love, which is mature. Wong Kar Wai’s masterpiece is a must watch if you love “LOVE” If you’re suffering from loneliness, this film is the medicine. It might not completely cure you but it will heal you.

A group of people from three continents struggles with emotional stress and traumatic situations and tries hard to deal with their problems.

Through this multi-narrative psychological drama, Alejandro stitches four stories that take place in different counties ( 3 continents ) beautifully. Gustavo Santaolalla’s score for Babel can easily be considered one of the best scores of all times. 

13. Incendies ( 2010 )  131 mins

Genre: War / Drama

Nawal (Lubna Azabal), a dying Middle Eastern woman living in Montreal, leaves separate letters to her twin children to be read once she passes away. Jeanne (Mélissa Désormeaux-Poulin) is to deliver hers to the father the twins never knew, and Simon (Maxim Gaudette) is to give his to the brother they never knew they had. The siblings travel to the Middle East separately, where they each experience acts of brutality, uncover a startling family history, and have revelations about themselves.

Denis Villeneuve’s thriller is going to paralyze you. The way Denis talks about humans and their possibilities, this is an era jumping thriller drama which talks about a family and its war torn past.

A film director reflects on the choices he's made in life as the past and present come crashing down around him.

If you’re an artist / story teller, you’re about to fall in love with this film. An introspective reflection of personal and professional self is shown through a parallel narrative between the past and the present.

Greed and class discrimination threaten the newly formed symbiotic relationship between the wealthy Park family and the destitute Kim clan.

JUST WATCH IT. Bong Joon Ho is a genius who takes back not 1, not 2 but 4 OSCARS for this crazy film.

The lives of Julio and Tenoch, like those of 17-year old boys everywhere, are ruled by raging hormones, intense friendships, and a headlong rush into adulthood. Over the course of a summer, the two best friends, while living out a carefree cross-country escapade with a gorgeous older woman, also find connection with each other, themselves and the world around them.

This is a coming-of-age drama about two best friends who later in the film are attracted to the same woman and go on a road trip with her around Mexico. Alfonso Cuaron blends racing hormones, true friendship, teen fantasies, drama, comedy and sex tastefully.

One of the best musicals. GENE KELLY, great dancing, great music, great story. 

It will easily be one of your favourites once you watch it.

Peppy Miller falls in love with the silent film star George Valentin. Things change when Peppy becomes a famous actor while George's career goes downhill with the introduction of talkies.

A silent movie in tribute to silent movies. You won’t believe your eyes for the fact that this film was made in 2011. 

21. Modern Times ( 1936 ) 87 mins

 Genre: Comedy / Silent

A factory production line worker is thrown out on the street for his manic behaviour. He then meets a young, homeless girl, who is recently orphaned, and tries to build a home with her.

This film is GENIUS. Charlie Chaplin at his best.

For Nishant, films have been a lot more than just a source of entertainment. His love for films compelled him to enter the world of film industry in Mumbai. Films for him are an escape. In his words, "Films make me believe like I am the part of the world I am watching,  and I experience every feeling that the character experiences almost like I am in that very room, walking and running with them. For me watching films has never been a front of the screen affair, for me, I am the camera and my eyes are the lens. And lastly, my love for world cinema has made me travel every country without getting my passport stamped!"
